One of my favorite quotes:

Your outer world of form and experience is a reflection of your inner world of thoughts and feelings. As above, so below. As within, so without. That is the Law.

Our Light

"a sweet someone said to me recently, "i see your light." my heart sank with tenderness. she gets it. she gets me. she understands that with all the cracks, there is light, too. our lightness within is not only our own personal divinity, but a collective divinity, too. when we show up and be who we are. when we ask for what we want and nurture our spirits. when we live whole and true and messy and free, then we begin to release all that lightness into the world and we allow the lightness and goodness of others people and experiences to enter our hearts. then we're all walking around in the world with bright energy as we tackle the everyday to-do list or deeper matters of the heart. before he passed away, john's uncle roy used to tell me that inside my own heart is a light. when we peel away the layers of stress and confusion and worry and fear, there it is. the light we hold within our hearts is god - our own divinity of everything that is perfect and true. when we begin to see ourselves clearly, without the layers of muck, we are most in touch with what is divine. i'll never forget uncle roy. what a treasure he was to me. he is, as this painting is titled, deeply loved and unforgettable. he taught me that all i will ever need is already within. my light is my sweetest companion and with me always, even when it gets a bit cloudy. it's always there."

We Radiate

There is one responsibility that no man can evade. That is the responsibility of personal influence. The effect of your words and acts is tremendous in this world. Every moment of life you are changing to a degree the life of the whole world. Every man has an atmosphere or a radiation that is affecting every person in the world. You cannot escape it. Into the hands of every individual is given a marvelous power for good or for evil. It is simply the constant radiation of what a man really is. Every man by his mere living is radiating positive or negative qualities. Life is a state of radiation. To exist is to be the radiation of our feelings, natures, doubts, schemes, or to be the recipient of those things from somebody else. You cannot escape it. Man cannot escape for one moment the radiation of his character. You will select the qualities that you will permit to be radiated.

Love Yourself!

We know that we believe in being honest. We know that we should love our neighbors. But how often do we say things to ourselves like, "I can't believe I did that--I am so stupid" or "I'm such a loser." Hopefully you never say things like that to yourself. For if you do, you are being both dishonest--we are children of God, who are neither stupid nor losers--and not loving yourself. The scripture says, "Love your neighbor as yourself." We tend to focus on how we treat our neighbors, without realizing one of the most important people we need to love and care for is ourselves. You are a wondrous, glorious being on the threshhold of Godhood. We need to remember this truth at all times! Always treat yourself with love and respect. And you'll be suprised; when treat yourself well, and know your own truth, treating others well flows naturally and abundantly. Care for yourself. It IS the way to care for others.

Imagine a world with met needs....

Whenever I need to find some wonderful thoughts for my mind to focus on, I imagine what the world would be like if everyone could stop acting out of need. We are still so much in a state of lack--we need money, jobs, food, shelter, love. What if we all had what we needed? What if there was no lack? Why are you at work today? Is it because you love it and it is what you would chose even if you had all the money you could ever wish for? Why are you nice to your boss? Is it because you admire him or her, or because you need something from them--a paycheck, for example--and don't want to rock the boat. Why does the thief steal? He feels he has a need for the item, and can't obtain it otherwise. Granted, there are probably other reasons, but let's not make it complicated. Just, for an instance, imagine how people would act if they were abundant, if they could obtain everything and anything they desired. This concept has been very eye-opening to me, because even though I considered myself a pretty nice person, sincere and genuine, amidst all my sincerity I noticed I was also acting a part I thought I had to. Not that I wouldn't want to be kind and sincere--that part in me was good. But the part that felt I had to have certain things--nice things (car, clothes, home) in order to BE fulfilled. That wasn't right. It's not that you get to a point where you don't have these things, it's that you no longer NEED them in order to feel a certain way. It's a process of discovering your own unique goodness, and ultimately, your god-self that has no NEED of anything. Of course, along with that realization is the understanding that you can HAVE anything you want, but that's all because of understanding who you ARE. And who are you? The words that describe it best for me are: a divine, dazzling, radiant being of light and truth.

I'll get into what that means exactly more in another article. For now, just think of the wonderful world it will be when we all come to this knowledge--that we can have the things we desire. What is there to steal, if you can obtain what you like a noble, limitless way? Consider wars--they would not exist if people were not experiencing lack. People battle over lands and beliefs. What if they knew they could have all the land they want, all the freedom them want, all the possessions. There is nothing to take from others--that mode of obtaining no longer applies when you can have anything you want.

Love Yourself!

The more I learn about energy and the subconscious mind, the more amazed I become. A recent AHA I had was the realization that the first thing we are given dominion over is ourselves. And we are much more that the self we can see. I was thinking one day about a part of me I'd like to change. That very night I dreamed of myself more the way I wanted, but not the direction I wanted to go with my life. Yet I realized the many thoughts I've had over the years made my subconscious mind think I wanted that direction. I had the AHA--oh, we are just a conglomeration of energy, the manifestation of our spiritual self we were before birth. Who I am with my conscious mind is not yet the same person I have been creating subconsciously. My subconscious listens and obeys. It is still part of the eternal world, the world of spirit, and knows only obedience. My own energy obeys me. So when I think to myself, I am ugly, I am stupid, I can't do things right--my energy hears me and immediately seeks to bring into the physical the things I have been predominantly giving my energy to (focusing my thoughts on). Yet, it is possible to become consciously the person my subconscious thinks I am. I've wondered for years what the subconscious was--now I see. It's my whole field of energy that listens to my commands (thoughts) and seeks to bring what I say to pass. How cool is that???? This has been an amazing concept to grasp. Later on I'll explain more about how I started on this journey, just a regular kind of gal. And now I am opening to a world of infinite joy. Yet for me, it is still effort for me. I have YEARS of thought habits I am wading through and changing. Keep returning to center, keep returning to truth. I am creating this by my thoughts. Hey, I remember that saying--Change your thoughts and you change your world. Literally! Bye for now.

Weight of Glory

If you asked twenty good men today what they thought the highest of the virtues, nineteen of them would reply, Unselfishness. But if you had asked almost any of the great Christians of old, he would have replied, Love." (I wonder what virtue good people today would say is the highest?) He goes on to say, "The negative idea of Unselfishness carries with it the suggestion not primarily of securing good things for others, but of going without them ourselves, as if our abstinence and not their happiness was the important point."

"It may be asked what practical use there is in the speculations which I have been indulging. I can think of at least one such use. It may be possible for each to think too much of his own potential glory hereafter; it is hardly possible for him to think too often of too deeply about that of his neighbour. The load, or weight, or burden of my neighbour's glory should be laid on my back, a load so heavy that only humility can carry it, and the backs of the proud will be broken. It is a serious think to live in a society of possible gods and goddesses, to remember that the dullest and most uninteresting person you can talk to may one day be a creature which, if you say it now, you would be strongly tempted to worship. . . . There are not ordinary people. You have never talked to a mere mortal. . . . But it is immortals whom we joke with, work with, marry, snub, and exploit. . . . our charity must be a real and costly love with deep feeling for the sins in spite of which we love the sinner--no mere tolerance, or indulgence which parodies love as flippancy parodies merriment. Next to the Blessed Sacrament itself, your neighbour is the holiest object presented to your senses."

-Weight of Glory by C.S. Lewis

Faith and the Subconscious Mind

The greatest discovery of the 19th century was not in the realm of the physical sciences, but the power of the subconscious mind touched by faith. Any individual can tap into an eternal reservoir of power that will enable them to overcome any problem that may arise.

All weaknesses can be overcome, bodily healing, financial independence, spiritual awakening, prosperity beyond your wildest dreams. This is the superstructure of happiness.

Spiritual Silence

The miracle comes quietly into the mind that stops an instant and is still.

Wisdom is the principal thing, therefore, get wisdom, and with all thy getting, get understanding.

Beings of Light

Proper pH balance is much like the balance of light. Clear, bright, white light comes from a perfect balance of every color in the spectrum. If there is any imbalance in the spectrum of colors, the light will no longer be clear. In the same way, pH Balance is achieved by the synergy between each and every element and nutrient that the body needs.

No single element can bring the body into balance, but when the body has all of the raw materials it needs to function and an optimal inner environment, balance is realized.
